GANDHI KING CONFERENCE WAS ORGANIZED IN STANFORD UNIVERSITY ON OCTOBER 11-13, 2019 ON THE OCCASION OF MAHATMA GANDHI'S 150TH BIRTH ANNIVERSARY. THE INSPIRATION FOR THIS CONFERENCE WAS THE KING CONFERENCE HELD IN 2010 IN STANFORD UNIERSITY
THE LEAD FOR THE GANDHI KING CONFERENCES: DR. SRIRAM SONTY FROM CHICAGO, PROF. PRASAD GOLLANAPALLI FROM INDIA, PROF. CLAYBORNE CARSON DIRECTOR, THE KING INSTITUTE AT STANFORD, DR. RAMAKRISHNARA SURAPANENI FROM CANADA
IN 2018, PROF. CARSON GOT THE PRESTEGIOUS JAMNALAL BAJAJ AWARD FOR PROMOTING GANDHIAN VALUES OUTSIDE INDIA. THIS IS A RECOGNITION FOR THE SUSTAINED WORK BEING DONE BY PROF. CARSON AND THE TEAM WHICH GAVE FURTHER IMPETUS TO ORGANIZE GANDHI KING CONFERENCE IN 2019.
VARIOUS ORGANIZATIONS AND INDIVIDUALS CAME TOGETHER IN A MEETING AT STANFORD ON MARCH 1, 2019 WHERE GANDHI KING GLOBAL INITIATIVE WAS LAUNCHED AND GANDHI KING CONFERENCE WAS ANNOUNCED.
